Mica is a naturally occuring group of sheet silicate minerals that is used in powder form in cosmetics for color and light dispersal purposes. There are 37 unique mica minerals. 1 

We use mica in cream formulas only, as inhalation of mica powders over time may scar the lungs and cause respiratory damage.2
